In 2010, Christy Marshall-Silva faced the unimaginable loss of her seven-year-old son, Aidan, to sudden cardiac arrest. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, she founded Aidan's Heart Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting heart health awareness and education.

Over the past decade, the foundation has achieved significant milestones:

  • Heart Screenings: Organizing events to detect heart conditions in young individuals.

  • AED Placement: Distributing Automatic External Defibrillators in community areas where people engage in physical activities.

  • CPR Training: Educating over 10,000 students in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, on life-saving techniques.

A unique aspect of their CPR training involves high school students teaching their younger peers, fostering a culture of preparedness and community support. Reflecting on this initiative, Christy remarked, "We figured let's start with the young people in our community; that way, we'll change the culture of our community's ability to respond to cardiac arrest."

Through these efforts, Aidan's legacy endures, inspiring a community to take proactive steps in heart health education and emergency response.
