Our Board Members
We are indebted to the following current board members for going above and beyond to help our organization grow and sustain its efforts:
Christy Silva: Board President and Aidan’s Mother
A Cum Laude graduate of the University of Scranton, she holds a Master’s degree in Literacy and is a Reading Specialist. She founded her own education consulting company and continues to instruct high school students study skills and literacy strategies to improve school performance, prepare for the SAT and ACT exams, and navigate all components of the college search and application process.
Christy also has two years of non-profit experience: as a program director for the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness (1997-1998) and as a classroom program director for Need in Deed Service Learning Organization (2001-2002).
In college, Christy was the director of several community service initiatives, including the Social Justice club and multiple Habitat for Humanity mission trips. Christy is a co-founder of Aidan’s Heart Foundation and the mother of Aidan’s three younger siblings.
Rita Stern: Executive Director
A Cum Laude graduate of Tulane University with an undergraduate degree in Economics she holds a MBA from Drexel University.
Rita has 9 years of experience as a Program Director of a non-profit in Philadelphia. She has also worked as a Financial Analyst for a non-profit in Exton for 3 years. Rita worked part-time in Development for People’s Light & Theater for 10 years.
She joined Aidan’s Heart Foundation as the part-time Public Relations Manager in February 2018. She is thrilled to be part of an incredible Foundation and looks forward to seeing the Foundation grow.
Kim has 14 years of financial experience with 11 years in Pharma/Biotech and 3 years in public accounting. She has proven expertise in financial planning and analysis, development and implementation of accounting systems, fiscal management and audit. Kim holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware. Her financial background enables her to effectively perform the role of Treasurer for Aidan’s Heart Foundation.
John brings 15 years of experience as a Financial Advisor with IM Wealth Partners in Blue Bell, Pa. Prior to working at IM Wealth Partners, John served as a financial planner at Metlife and Brumbaugh Wealth Management company in Downingtown. John brings his detail-oriented and organizational skills to Aidan’s Heart Foundation as Secretary of the Board.
Christa Glogowski, DC
Dr. Christa is a co-owner of Active Family & Sports Chiropractic in Exton, practicing with a focus in maternity and pediatrics. Dr. Christa is actively involved in the community providing lectures and classes promoting healthy lifestyles. Working with Aidan’s Heart Foundation offers an opportunity to influence the pediatric community in a way that will save lives.
Kelly Hagelauer is a Sr. HR Consultant specializing in Talent Acquisition, HR Management & Training. She received her BA from La Salle University and presents a strong background in Human Resources Management experience with both Fortune 500 companies such as well as small business environments. Additionally, she has over a decade of experience working as a volunteer in organizing and educating the community on both Sudden Cardiac Arrest in our youth and environmental awareness. Her extensive work in mobilizing grassroots organizations helped spearhead the campaign to enact “Aidan’s Law” as well as enables her to effectively manage and execute her role within Aidan’s Heart Foundation.
Chris is currently a Critical Care/Flight Paramedic with PennSTAR Flight Team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and has been involved in the fire service and emergency medical services for 13 years. Past positions include EMS Captain for Berwyn Fire Company in Chester County and Clinical Care Coordinator for Narberth Ambulance in Montgomery County. Chris has been a Certified American Heart Association CPR/AED instructor for 8 years. He is our main instructor for our Heart Heroes CPR+AED Training Program in area schools.
